This past spring, I tried to grow strawberries. I thought it would be so amazing to pick juicy berries right from my own yard, but that didn’t exactly work out. After a year in a half of development, Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore’s HBO show has finally landed a season order, Deadline reports. Titled Insecure, the pilot is inspired by Rae’s hit web series The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl and will follow “the awkward experiences and racy tribulations of a modern day African-American woman” and star Rae. It’s unclear whether Wilmore will remain heavily involved in the show due to his new Comedy Central series, but Deadline reports he is still attached as an executive producer. Read More...
